Category: Pyranometer

The SR15-D1 Pyranometer is an advanced instrument used to measure solar radiation, specifically the global solar radiation received by a horizontal surface. It is part of the pyranometer family, which are devices that measure the intensity of sunlight or solar radiation reaching the Earth's surface.

  • Solar Power Efficiency: To ensure solar panels and systems are performing optimally, it’s crucial to measure how much solar radiation is available. The SR15-D1 provides real-time data for this.
  • Climate & Environmental Studies: The device offers scientists critical data needed to study the effects of solar radiation on the climate and ecosystems.
  • Accurate Data: With a wide measurement range and precision, it’s suitable for a wide array of professional applications, ensuring that users can make data-driven decisions.

IEC 61724-1: Photovoltaic System Performance Monitoring - Guidelines for Measurement, Data Exchange and Analysis - requires heating for Class B monitoring. SR15-D1, with its on-board heater, offers Class B compliance without the need for additional accessories.

SR15 first class pyranometer employs a thermal sensor with black coating, two glass domes and an anodised aluminium body. The digital sensor offers output via Modbus RTU over 2-wire RS-485 (version SR15-D1) and via Modbus TTL and 4-20 mA current loop (version SR15-D2A2).
