The SPP Rain and Snow Sensor is a compact precipitation detection device designed to identify the presence of rain or snow and determine the duration of precipitation events. The sensor provides fast and reliable detection, making it suitable for meteorological, environmental, and industrial monitoring applications.
The sensing surface incorporates a gold-plated conductive grid that detects the presence of water through conductivity measurement. When precipitation reaches the sensor surface, the integrated relay activates and generates a dry contact output that can be recorded by data loggers, control systems, and monitoring platforms.
An integrated heating system automatically removes accumulated water, snow, or ice from the sensing surface after precipitation events. This allows the sensor to accurately determine both the start and end of rainfall or snowfall periods. Built with reinforced resin construction and IP65 protection, the SPP sensor is designed for dependable long-term outdoor operation.
