The SM.3 High Precision Soil Temperature, Moisture and Conductivity Sensor is a professional multi-parameter soil monitoring instrument designed to simultaneously measure volumetric water content (VWC), soil temperature, and electrical conductivity (EC). Using advanced 70MHz Frequency Domain Reflectometry (FDR) technology together with a precision Pt100 temperature sensor, it delivers highly accurate and stable measurements for agricultural, environmental, and scientific applications.
The sensor measures soil moisture by determining the dielectric constant of the soil, while the integrated Pt100 sensor continuously monitors soil temperature. Electrical conductivity measurement further provides valuable information about soil salinity and nutrient availability, making the SM.3 a complete solution for advanced soil analysis. The rugged ABS housing and corrosion-resistant AISI 316L stainless steel probes ensure reliable long-term operation even in demanding field conditions.
Built according to WMO standards, the SM.3 supports analog voltage, current, and RS485 ModBus communication for seamless integration with weather stations, irrigation controllers, data loggers, and precision agriculture systems. Its IP68 protection allows permanent underground installation or portable field measurements.
