Model: 27106T / 27106DT | Make: RM Young |
Category: Cup Anemometer
The YOUNG Model 27106T Gill Propeller Anemometer (CFT) uses a fast-response helicoid propeller and a high-quality tach-generator transducer to produce a DC voltage that is linearly proportional to air velocity. Airflow from any direction can be measured, but the propeller only reacts to the component of the airflow that is parallel to its axis of rotation. Off-axis reaction closely resembles an adequate polarity cosine curve. The propeller won’t spin in the presence of perpendicular air flow. A broad variety of signal translators and data-logging devices can use the output signal. For increased range and durability, the Model 27106T has a carbon fiber thermoplastic (CFT) propeller.
A modified version of the Model 27106T, the Young Model 27106DT Gill Propeller Anemometer (CFT) uses an optical encoder to provide a square wave pulsed output with a frequency proportionate to wind speed.
