The PIR Pyrheliometer is a First Class thermopile-based solar radiation instrument designed to accurately measure direct normal solar irradiance (DNI). Built in accordance with ISO 9060 and WMO standards, it measures only the direct component of solar radiation while excluding diffuse radiation through its precision optical design and 5° field of view.
Designed for professional meteorological observations, solar energy research, and photovoltaic performance monitoring, the PIR delivers high measurement accuracy, excellent long-term stability, and fast response. The receiving surface is positioned perpendicular to the sun's rays using a solar tracker or manual alignment, ensuring reliable direct irradiance measurements across the 250–4000 nm spectral range.
Manufactured from durable aluminium alloy, the PIR is built for long-term outdoor operation under demanding environmental conditions. It supports thermopile, analog voltage, current, and optional RS485 ModBus communication, allowing seamless integration with weather stations, solar monitoring systems, SCADA platforms, and scientific data acquisition systems.
