The LUM Luminance Sensor is a professional instrument designed to accurately measure luminance (brightness) in candela per square metre (cd/m²). Using a precision silicon photodiode, the sensor converts photometric luminance into industry-standard analog or digital output signals, making it suitable for continuous environmental and lighting monitoring applications.
The sensor is available with three selectable measurement ranges of 2, 20, or 200 kcd/m², allowing it to meet the requirements of different lighting environments. Its IP67-rated enclosure ensures dependable performance in harsh outdoor conditions, while the optional RS485 ModBus interface enables reliable long-distance data transmission for installations located more than 50 metres from the monitoring system.
Designed for professional monitoring applications, the LUM is widely used for tunnel entrance luminance measurement, road lighting control, projection screen evaluation, and vertical illuminance assessment. Its robust construction, multiple communication options, and low power consumption allow seamless integration with weather stations, smart lighting systems, SCADA platforms, and environmental monitoring networks.
