The DIS Radar Disdrometer is a professional meteorological sensor designed to accurately identify precipitation types and measure rainfall intensity using advanced 24 GHz Doppler radar technology. Unlike conventional rain gauges, the sensor analyzes both the size and velocity of precipitation particles, enabling precise classification of various precipitation events.
The sensor can automatically distinguish between rain, snow, sleet, freezing rain, hail, drizzle, and no precipitation conditions according to SYNOP 4677 weather coding standards. By measuring particle fall speed and droplet dimensions, the DIS provides highly reliable precipitation data for critical weather monitoring applications.
Designed for continuous outdoor operation, the sensor features a compact and lightweight construction with RS485 Modbus communication for seamless integration with weather stations, environmental monitoring systems, road weather information systems, and aviation meteorology networks. Its low maintenance design requires no periodic calibration and offers excellent protection against corrosion and electrical surges.
