Heavy Duty Wind Monitor-HD-Alpine 05108-45:
The YOUNG Model 05108-45 Heavy Duty Wind Monitor HD-Alpine measures the horizontal wind speed and direction. This sensor has ceramic bearings, a 14-inch diameter propeller shaft, and a high-pitch propeller similar to the Model 05108.
This model offers extra features such as an all-black design for thermal warming from sun exposure and a specially developed, ice-resistant coating sprayed to all external surfaces to boost performance in high-elevation Alpine conditions. A precision potentiometer serves as the direct output for direction and an AC sine wave serves as the direct output for wind speed. This sensor is compatible with 1-inch IPS pipes in general. Included is a mounting orientation ring.
The Model 19120 separate surge protection assembly serves as a junction box for cable termination and provides extra electrical transient surge protection. The sensor signals can be converted to 0-5 V (Model 05608C) or 4-20 mA using separate signal conditioning devices (Model 05638C). Each of these three devices has a waterproof shell and mounting hardware (Model 19120 is not typically used in conjunction with either Model 05603C or Model 05631C).
